The Marfa West Texas Guide (Plus Alpine, Ft. Davis)

The Marfa West Texas Guide (Plus Alpine, Ft. Davis)

A Marfa West Texas Guide (plus surrounding Alpine & Fort Davis areas) with recommendations for where to eat, places to stay, and what to do!

I am so excited to share with y’all my Marfa West Texas Guide. West Texas holds a very special place in my heart. An El Paso native (which is as far west as you can go in Texas), I grew up going to summer camp (shout out Prude Ranch) 3 hours away in the outskirts of tiny Fort Davis, TX. This area isn’t well known to many, but can be referenced by relating it to the “Marfa area.” I spent 13 summers of my life in this area- riding horses, exploring the mountains, and making a million memories that mean more to me than I can truly describe.

Before starting my full-time post-grad job, I decided to take one more road trip to Fort Davis/Marfa/Alpine and get lost once more on West Texas time while also compiling a list of recommendations for anyone else traveling in the area based on my own and expert and local opinion.

This area is a true gemstone in the middle of nowhere- an easy analogy to the Prada Marfa store I’m sure you heard of- seemingly misplaced and simple but that intrigues and connects to people in inspiring ways. I hope that this guide serves you well if you ever get the chance to spend time in these West Texas areas…
