Metabolism Boosting Cacao Latte

Cacao Latte

One of my favorite lattes I make, made with cacao rather than coffee for natural energy and less caffeine. Only 3 ingredients, but lots of benefits and so delicious!

This cacao latte recipe went viral on my TikTok (watch here).

If you’ve followed me for awhile, you may know that I don’t normally drink coffee. I used to deal with really bad anxiety and I had to cut it out (you can read more about that here). This was incredibly hard because I love the taste of a good morning cup of coffee!

Luckily, I have found some great alternatives such as this metabolism boosting cacao latte. When I’m not drinking my beloved matcha latte, I make this cacao latte, and it is amazing! It’s also only 3 ingredients and customizable in many ways – so you can tailor it exactly how you like it!

Benefits of Cacao

Cacao (not to be confused with chocolate cocoa powder) has some amazing benefits! It is one of my favorite superfood powders. It is packed with fiber (hense the metabolism boost), magnesium, and potassium and can be great for an increase in energy. The caffeine level is MUCH lower than coffee and it feels very natural in the body.

Any cacao will work, but I use Sakara’s Metabolism Boosting Powder as cacao. It is a cacao blend with a few other ingredients to promote more energy, help with digestion, and boost metabolism! If you are interested in that, you can get it here (use code XONat for 20% off your first purchase!)

Also, cacao is loaded with antioxidants so can have skin benefits as well!

The Recipe

The flavor of this latte is rich and delicious (it sort of does taste like hot cocoa). If you find the cacao too bitter, you can add some coffee in (I occasionally will add in some decaf coffee) or add sweetener (I use maple syrup, coconut sugar, or dates when I do want it a bit sweeter).
