Dairy-Free Date Caramel Apples

If you are looking for a plant-based caramel apple or a vegan caramel apple, look no further. These are so easy and so delicious. Caramel apples were one of my favorite desserts as a little girl and something I have always associated with fall! That being said, they always seemed intimidating to make because the caramel gets so sticky and can burn so easily!!!

Well, friends, here is your solution! This dairy-free caramel apple recipe is made using medjool dates so no burning, no over-the-top stickiness, and best of all, no sugar crash after. 🙂 This is an easy fall dessert recipe that takes less than 20 minutes (including covering your apples!)

I used Nutsola Superfood Mix to top my apples!

Oh and did I mention that it only takes 5 ingredients to make this date caramel!? You can use the caramel recipe for just about anything! Apples are a great choice to cut some of the sweetness. I used Gala apples, but Granny Smith are always a great option for extra tartness.

Nutsola Crunch Topping

You can also top the caramel with whatever your heart desires! I used Nutsola (which is an amazing Superfood blend), but the options are endless. I like Nutsola because it’s a mix of a whole bunch of healthy toppings (like chia seeds, almonds, etc.) already mixed for you! This topping was a great caramel apple alternatives to candy and refined sugar. Don’t sleep on healthy caramel apples!

Dairy-Free Date Caramel Apples

Dairy-free caramel apples made with medjool dates. This date caramel apple recipe is a perfect fall dessert! Easy caramel apples with no refined sugar!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 8 Medjool Dates Pitted
  • 1 tbsp. Almond Butter
  • 3 tbsp. Almond Milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Coconut Oil Melted
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Apples
  • Any Optional Toppings Nuts, Coconut Flakes, Chocolate Chips, etc.

Instructions

Recipe:

  • In a food processor or blender, blend all ingredients except the apples until smooth.
  • Wash apples and insert sticks into the middle.
  • Using a knife or spatula, coat apples in caramel. Add any desired toppings.
  • Chill in the fridge on a tray coated in waxpaper until ready to cut and serve!
